School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education

The school of distance learning and continuing education has been structured in a way to make learning for people of various spheres of life quite easy. Distance learning is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with a teacher in the classroom. Access to education is no longer limited to those who can make it to the classroom. The schedules are drawn in a way to suite the lifestyles of various kinds of people. This school comprise of three departments.

Departments

Legal Studies Department

The Legal Studies Department is a service department. Its primary function is to teach borrowed law courses to all the departments (from ND to HND final students) that must take the relevant departmental staff law courses before graduation. Currently, the department is headed by Barr. Okey Okoh with 10 regular lecturers and 9 part-time lecturers. The department has four non-academic staff.

Part Time

The part time studies department is focused towards accommodating people who cannot attend the full regular programme due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. The part time studies department took off over 30 years ago with a view of reducing the rate of illiteracy within the nation beginning with the South east region. To this end, the department is currently running academic programmes in its department education.
