Urban and Regional Planning is a department whose importance lies at the heart of every nation. No country can stand without properly planning its environment. It is due to this neglect in the past that many urban centres in Nigeria are suffering the menace of flood disaster, pollution, traffic jam and erosion today. It is proper planning and strict adherence to rules by builders that can save a nation from these disasters. The discipline and the right attitude to nation building are the building bricks on which we groom our students amongst all other things.
Urban and Regional Planning, as a department in the School of Environmental Studies of the Institute, took off in 2009 and has since graduated five sets of national diploma and now about to graduate the first set of higher national diploma programmes.
