Rector Welcomes The NBTE Accreditation Team To IMT Enugu

On behalf of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, I am deeply honored to welcome the esteemed team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to our Institute for this crucial exercise of accreditation, re-accreditation, and resource inspection of ten of our academic programmes.

Your presence here is a testament to the NBTE’s continued commitment to upholding the quality, relevance, and integrity of technical education in Nigeria. For us at IMT, this accreditation process is not just a regulatory requirement; it is a partnership for excellence and an opportunity to affirm our collective responsibility to equip our students with the skills, competencies, and character that meet both national needs and global standards.

At IMT, we are unwavering in our commitment to the vision of our founding fathers: to be a center of innovation, technical proficiency, and applied scholarship. Over the years, we have worked diligently to ensure that we are not just meeting but exceeding the standards set for higher education institutions. In recent years, we have focused on transforming our academic environment through curriculum enhancements, infrastructural improvements, staff development, digitization, and building stronger industry linkages.

This accreditation exercise comes at a pivotal time for IMT, as we are undergoing a renewed drive for quality assurance and institutional strengthening. We have made significant strides in improving our facilities, laboratories, studios, workshops, libraries, and learning resources across the programmes under review, ensuring they meet the standards required for effective teaching and learning.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors, and all academic and non-academic staff who have invested their time and expertise in preparing for this accreditation process. Your dedication and teamwork have been exemplary, and I am confident that the outcome of this exercise will reflect the hard work that has gone into the preparations.

To the distinguished NBTE team, I assure you of our full cooperation during your stay. We deeply value your professionalism, rigour, and objectivity, and we welcome your observations, guidance, and recommendations. This accreditation exercise is an opportunity for us to learn, grow, and align more closely with the emerging global trends in technical and vocational education.

At IMT, we remain open to constructive feedback, and we are committed to continually upgrading our programmes and facilities, strengthening our staff capacity, and creating an environment where competence, innovation, and integrity can thrive.

Finally, I would like to remind us that accreditation is not an end point but a continual journey; one that requires an unwavering commitment to quality, accountability, and excellence. IMT is fully committed to this journey and we are ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with it.

Once again, I warmly welcome the NBTE Accreditation Team, and I wish you a successful and fruitful engagement during your stay with us.

Thank you, and may God bless you.
