Faculty of Distance Learning and Continuing Education

The School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education is designed to make education accessible and flexible for learners from all walks of life. With distance learning, students can study remotely without the need for traditional face-to-face classroom interactions, breaking down barriers to education for those who cannot attend in person. The flexible schedules are tailored to accommodate diverse lifestyles, ensuring that anyone, regardless of their commitments, can pursue their educational goals. The school is comprised of three distinct departments, each offering specialized programs to meet the needs of a wide range of learners.

The Legal Studies Department serves as a crucial support unit, providing essential law courses to students across all departments, from ND to HND levels. These courses are required for graduation, ensuring that students gain a solid understanding of relevant legal principles. Led by Barr. Okey Okoh, the department consists of 10 full-time lecturers, 9 part-time lecturers, and is supported by four non-academic staff members. The Part-Time Studies Department is dedicated to supporting individuals who are unable to attend the full regular program due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. Established over 30 years ago, this department was created with the goal of reducing illiteracy rates across the nation, starting with the South East region. Today, it continues to offer a range of academic programs, providing flexible learning options for those seeking education on their own terms.
