Rector’s Welcome Address
Professor Austin Uchechukwu Nweze, PhD (Nig.), FCA, FCTI, JP Rector
The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu was established in 1973 as a result of the amalgamation of the College of Technology and the Institute of Administration in Enugu. Presently, we maintain 2 campuses, with 9 academic schools housing 40 academic departments. Today, we are repositioning the Institute to reach for greater heights. Our desire is to impart quality in the life of every person who walks through the four walls of this institution.
In line with the 21st century trends, our vision is to instill a digital culture in our students which will prepare them to compete favorably in the ever-dynamic world. This vision includes a plan for a modern Central Library with vast holdings in books and a state-of-the-art e-library. In line with this vision, the Digital Learning Management Center (DLMC) and the AfriHUB Digital Training Center are currently operational.
At IMT, Enugu, we work hard towards upholding our high standards. We are exposing our students to a unique cocktail of cutting-edge managerial and technological knowledge, and are concerned with the achievement of a culture of excellence not just in learning, but in character and conduct. Our hostels, lecture rooms, laboratories, libraries, and recreation centers are currently being redesigned with this in mind.
Our philosophy challenges us to produce graduates who will not only excel in employment but will also create employment. To do this, we rely on technology and the sheer will of our skilled staff and driven students. This is our reality, and you can be a part of it.
On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, I welcome you to our prestigious institution. I invite you to share in our vision of quality across all spheres, by all, for all and with all.
