About IMT Consultancy Services

The Federal Government of Nigeria, following the Abioye Panel Report of 1983, requested government parastatals, ministries, departments and institutions to set up and utilize consultancy units in their various areas to increase internally generated revenue (IGR). Consequently, IMT Consultancy Services and Production was established in 1992 as a single unit but was later demerged into two separate directorates namely:

  1. Industrial Centre
  2. IMT Consultancy Services

The IMT Governing Council and Management in 2021 further restructured the unit for enhanced capacity. The unit has been able to increase the financial profile of the Institute by handling the following projects:

  1. Invented and commercialized the IMT Auto-Hand Washing Machine
  2. Investment Subscription Scheme (Loans and Savings)
  3. Journal and Textbook Publications
  4. The IMT Bookshop
